Most of the members of the network  were awarded the European Language Label for their quality projects in the field of language learning. Birthe Lindvall has worked with alphabetization for a period of 10 years and for a couple of years’ time in collaboration with teachers of the mother tongue spoken by my students. The teachers taught Arabic and Kurdish and I taught Swedish. Birthe Lindvall has had a close cooperation with the city’s museum and libraries. Hanne Thomsen has 28 years as a teacher of English and German in a primary and lower secondary school. She has been involved in the development of learner autonomy in foreign language learning with school children and involved in a number of local, national as well as European / international school projects. Hanne Thomsen published (in cooperation with a colleague and supported by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and the Teachers’ Resource Centres in Denmark) the Danish version of a European Language Portfolio for young learners. She was responsible of the English corner project which was awarded the European Language Label in 2005.

Shenja Jensen was responsible for the French Learning in Cyberspace project. French Learning in Cyberspace is a virtual collaboration between a variety of schools in Europe, Canada and Africa. The conversation between pupils ranges from the abstract level to the very practical when they can read and write letters to French newspapers, exchange views and ask questions to an author whose book they just read, or discuss violence, racism with other students . This method gives students a valuable opportunity to meet real French in class.
