The Routes into Languages Leader Award, and the Language BeatZ project

The 2013 judging panel awarded a joint Label to two projects and two organisations, recognising the effective working relationship between Comberton Village College and Routes into Languages East. Judges felt that the dynamic partnership between the two institutions merited an award that highlights the sequence of inspirational projects in language learning developed over time. The aim of ‘Sing to the Future: Language BeatZ’ is for students in Year 8 to practise and improve their foreign language skills by transferring language from the Key Stage 3 curriculum into catchy, memorable song lyrics. The project combines music and language to facilitate creative sentence building, develop memory skills and pronunciation while having fun.
