Bilingual German Project
Pupils followed the school’s normal ICT curriculum, but lessons were entirely in German. The aim was to harness the children’s curiosity and ICT ability in order to develop and sustain their desire to challenge themselves and others by learning difficult skills such as those of computer programming in a different language. In the pilot project, English was replaced by German as the medium of delivery, and in the second phase, while English students developed their ICT skills through German, their German counterparts learnt the same skills, but taught through English.
