HoLA Home Language Accreditation

The project’s aims are to support and develop partnerships between complementary and mainstream schools, to encourage accreditation of home languages, and to record and reward children’s home language learning. HoLa wants to help bilingual students gain accreditation with the aim of raising educational attainment, celebrating linguistic diversity and promoting awareness of plurilingualism as a valuable resource for the city of Sheffield. HoLA has two strands, the first supports bilingual students to gain accreditation in their home language and the second gives community language tutors access to pedagogical support and training.
