Norrebro Multilingual Library

Multilingual library of Copenhagen neighbourhood Nørrebro have for several years made persistent efforts to engage their bilingual and multilingual visitors in the world of books and to help develop their language skills. The library is located in a disadvantaged neighbourhood, and it has a diverse range of users. The library staff put a lot of work into missions outside the library, such as reading aloud for families with small children, reading groups for ethnic minority women, English Talk Club, help to translate and fill in forms and help with homework.

  • supporting mobility for language learning
  • promotion of multilingualism
  • promotion of recognition and validation of language skills acquired through non formal and informal education
