ITAMED - Medical Italian

Medical Italian arises from the need to create CLIL related materials in Italian at a B1 or B2 level. It aims at teaching students, translators or professionals who have to work in hospitals or health facilities in our country, terminology and language of medicine. The book (including a CD-ROM) was published by Edilingua Editions in Athens (Greece) in 2012. Medical Italian is divided into two parts: the first part describes the National Health Service and its articulations (AUSL, Hospitals, general practitioners, etc.); the second is dedicated to the relationship patient-physician and the discussion of simple clinical case studies. Following the testing and validation of materials at the online University Falun in Sweden (September-December 2011), Medical Italian proved to be useful to professional translators working in the medical-scientific field.
