Deutsch lernen: Kreieren, kooperieren, kommunizieren
The programme focused on teaching German as a foreign language to pupils from 2 primary schools in Greece. The pupils came from a diverse national, racial and social background. In those circumstances the choice that the German teachers made to focus on intercultural education in order to promote the sense of understanding, solidarity and harmonious coexistence proved imperative. While the teaching of German lied at the core of the project, the activities selected enhanced creativity, cooperation and communication so that an attitude of tolerance and team spirit could be developed. As a result of the activities undertaken in the context of the project, the pupils’ ability to communicate in German gradually developed in tandem with their ability to work and make decisions in a cooperative manner.
