Greek on the Go (iPhone Application)
The Hellenic American Union, in collaboration with software developer Top Creations, has developed the “Greek on the Go” iPhone application for learners of Modern Greek as a Second or Foreign Language. Users learn the language through a variety of multimedia and educational materials and tools, carrying out activities and browsing the iPhone’s virtual environment. The aim of the activities is to learn and practice new vocabulary in the context of authentic daily communicative situations in order to improve understanding and generate more oral discourse. It is designed for use by both teenagers and adults at the beginning A1 and A2 levels of CEFR. Users of the application have the option of practicing further, both through the “Learning Greek Podcasts” series, available for free from the Hellenic American Union and through live video interaction with a teacher of Greek through the “Talk to the Natives” program.
