FÓN

The FÓN system incorporates the use of mobile phones and networked computers as tools in the teaching, learning and assessment of Irish for students in Ireland. 10 teachers and 391 students participate in six schools, three in the Republic of Ireland and three in Northern Ireland. Networked computers facilitate online chat. Students use new learning tools and increase speaking abilities in Irish. Students communicate with other students from schools. Students practice their Irish at any time, in any place and at their own pace.
