This project is collaboration between three countries, Lithuania, Norway and Denmark. The aim is to attain language skills and technological skills in an integrated learning situation. The countries have worked together in a web-based environment using a simulation concept (SIMULAB). The students of the three countries are asked to present different cities and regions in English to a group of professors from Japan who are preparing for a trip to Europe.
The tasks that the group agreed to undertake led to common activities in fact finding, decision taking and preparing for presentation on the net which combines language skills, social skills and Internet skills. The learners took more and more responsibility for their own learning, their learning took them outside the classroom, and the groups gave learners with different abilities the chance to contribute to the process and the final product. In this way the new approach that integrated language and technological learning opened up new possibilities for many learners who needed a fresh start after finishing school. They experienced that´as groups they could communicate with learners in other European countries by working on the same topics. The results gave them a sense of achievement that they have to deal with.
