THE INITIATIVE PROMOTER’S PERSPECTIVE
The use for skills in languages has increased when the work places and study places are global.In a globalized world and a Europe that is heading towards more collaboration and integration, good language skills are essential.
To obtain deeper linguistic skills in students of the natural science program at Hvitfeldska upper secondary school. Master the foreign language so well that you can study or work in the target language country
Pedagogical and methodological approaches: They use as much as possible of authentic texts (from single items to classical literature) and modern media. They are not only using traditional teaching materials, but they also use the foreign language as a tool in the projects from other subjects as social studies, history, physics and science. Thus the students in the third year to a large part read History A in the target language. The Internet is a natural source. They constantly develop new exercises on the Smart Board. “The Brain Square”, their educational platform, is also under constant development.
The Language courses consists of seven steps, the seventh step gives the opportunity to acquire 15 university credits already in high school. They make at least two exchange trips to the countries of the target languages. At least one of the teachers is a native speaker. The contrastive grammar teaching is given by Swedish language teachers.
Continuous independent quality control: In addition to National Tests, they have independent quality review where the students are tested by the French or German school authorities. This provides a necessary qualification for study and work in the target language countries.

Comprehensive approach. Every element of the language initiative should ensure that the needs of the students are identified and met.
Added value. Initiatives should provide a tangible improvement in the teaching and learning of languages in their national context.
Motivation enhancement. This project reports to motivating the students and teachers to improve their language skills.
Transferability. This project can be an inspiration for other language projects in different countries
