THE INITIATIVE PROMOTER’S PERSPECTIVE
The project tackled the problem of learning disabilities and dyslexia among young people.
The aim of the project was to detect students with special needs in learning foreign languages, and finding solutions to their specific difficulties in order to prevent their social exclusion.
The project sought to achieve these goals by taking advantage of the achievements in brain research, taking feelings into consideration in the learning process, emphasising the importance of having a healthy self-esteem, and by creating new learning materials (e.g. an illustrated grammar).
The project monitored students throughout the upper secondary school and it was implemented without any additional funding, which shows admirable dedication and initiative from its coordinators.
