A CLIL Experience@ WIT
The project integrates Marketing into French, and History of Art , Design and Events Management into Italian. Waterford Institute of Technology relies on CEFR. The innovation is in integration of a CLIL dimension in an essentially communicative approach. CEFR promotes languages as a tool for communication. CLIL integrates a cognitive dimension to the language learning experience. Original CLIL materials in marketing, events management and history of art and design are being developed by the teachers. Motivation to commence and continue language learning is increased due to the interdisciplinary nature of the experience.
