Cornwall Mini-Assistants

This project places year 12-13 students studying French in French primary schools in the Finistere region of Brittany for one to two weeks, where they help to teach English while improving their French by living at the heart of the local community. The aims of the project are to give A-level students a 'bain linguistique' in an authentic context as well as an insight into teaching, and to enhance students' understanding of the culture of France and in particular of Brittany. Schools are also encouraged to use the link to promote wider activities such as teacher training, the twinning of schools, the sharing of experience between teacher trainers, and helping French primary schools with the teaching of English.
