Professional training in Bilingual teaching and Learning for Intensive courses in Sorbian /“Wendisch“

The project is a contribution to the preservation of minority languages and consists of the development of a 32 week course over 4 semesters which trains and qualifies teachers to teach Sorbian (a minority language in East Germany whose continuous existence is in danger. The approach is one that can be applied to training for other bilingual programmes for minority languages. The partners are Staatliches Schulamt Cottbus, Arbeitsstelle für sorbische (wendische) Bildungsentwicklung Cottbus (Brandenburg); Kooperationspartner: WIB e.V. (Potsdam), Universität Potsdam, Institut für Slavistik
