Network of European Language Labelled Initiatives and Projects

Life Long Learning Programme - Key Activities 2 Languages – Multilateral Networks

Objectives
The NELLIP project has the aim to promote quality in language learning through the application of the quality criteria used to award the European Language Label.

The NELLIP project has three main objectives:
  1. to promote the networking and creation of synergies among language learning initiatives having received the European Language Label with the aim to enhance their impact, transferability potential and sustainability.
  2. to promote the adoption of a joint methodology that will allow the effective planning and implementation of high quality language learning initiatives according to the quality criteria used for the assessment of initiatives that apply to be awarded the European Language Label
  3. to promote the information about the European Language Label initiative among language learning providers.

The methodology that will be implemented in the NELLIP project will focus on:
  • Strategies for the exploitation and networking of language learning initiatives having received the European Language Label.
  • Methodologies for an effective planning and implementation of high quality language learning initiatives that are consistent with the quality criteria for awarding the European Language Label.
  • Analysis of benefits and impact of the European Language Label for language learning providers.
Target Groups
The NELLIP project’s direct target groups belong to the following sectors:
  • Universities
  • Schools
  • Adult Education Institutions
  • Vocational Education and Training Providers
Activities

The project work is organized into the following main activities:


1) Research

Objectives

Identification and description of success stories and best practices in planning and implementing Language learning initiatives that received the European Language Label.


Expected Results

  1. Case Studies focusing on language learning initiatives, projects and products having received the European Language Label
  2. National Reports on the history and developments of the European Language Label initiative in the countries represented in the partnership. The reports will also describe the best practices developed by the promoters of initiatives, projects/products that were awarded the European Language Label.
  3. Transnational Report analyzing the information presented in the national reports according to a transnational comparative approach that will highlight points in common and main differences among the European Language Labelled projects/products created and assessed in Europe.

2) Guidelines

Objectives

  • Development of Guidelines on how to plan, implement, manage, exploit and network quality initiatives for language learning based on the capitalization of the best practices developed in the framework of European language labelled projects and initiatives.

Expected Results

  1. Guidelines on how to plan, implement, manage, disseminate and exploit, quality initiatives for language learning, with reference to the European Language Label

3) Workshops

Objectives

  • Testing of materials produced and the sharing of information about the most effective language learning initiatives having received the European Language Label in Europe.

Expected Results

  1. Organization of workshops in order to test and exploit project results and European language labelled initiatives/projects/products
  2. Nine Operative Proposals produced by the participants in the workshops, who will be given the practical task to exploit their real current language learning initiatives.
