Programme of English Language Learning for Very Young Learners

The Programme of English Language Learning for very Young Learners (PEAP) is a programme for the teaching of English to pupils at grades A and B in 800 All Day Schools, throughout Greece. This innovative programme is implemented by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specifically by the Research Centre for English Language. It will continue until June 2013. PEAP is the framework of a programme for English language learning which focuses on individualized learning, through activities and materials which are appropriate for the pupils’ age. Its immediate general goal is to upgrade foreign language education offered in public schools. The ultimate aim is to promote the principles of multiculturalism and acknowledgement of diversity in language, customs and culture.
