Primera Semana Española

The teachers of the Convitto Nazionale Umberto I of Turin thought that the lessons should not end once they leave the classroom. Their enthusiasm spread to the students as well as to many other subject teachers who worked together to create a team that carried out the project. The “Primera Semana de Español en Turin” wanted the culture and language of the Spanish and Hispanic communities to go beyond the school environment. All the activities took place in the afternoon so as to enable students from other schools to actively participate in the planned events. This week was a way to approach students, families and the citizens of Turin: it included pictures by famous photographers, flamenco and salsa dancing, culinary traditions, pop-rock music and live Latin American songs.
