The way of working started with a project based on the European Language Portfolio 16 +, followed by other school activities such as a nine weeks long internship abroad in connection with different Leonardo projects, and the everyday use of language learning by project Comenius ILTE; Industries Languages and Technology around Europe. The development work therefore comprised a main project and many related projects, which together provided a broad base for language learning in the classroom as well as in the countries of the target languages.

Full Description

The teaching of English and Foreign Languages at the Upper Secondary Schools of Technology in Gothenburg has been organized around ICT platform Fronter. In connection with this platform, the school has built a digital portfolio in which the work of the European Language Portfolio 16 + (eELP) has been designed. With the help of teaching based on the portfolio methodology and self-assessment the teachers have tried to encourage school students to independent and lifelong learning with a high degree of responsibility for one's own language skills. Learning English and foreign languages starting from the technical specialization, together with the students´ interest in computers and the internship in the countries of their target language the Upper Secondary School of Technology in Gothenburg have created a holistic approach to theory and practice, learning and workplace training. The development work therefore comprises a main project and many related projects, which together provided a broad base for language learning in the classroom as well as in the countries of the target languages.
