Opening the Doors to Language Learning for non-Traditional Learners

This project promotes independent learning among non-traditional learners. National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM), University of Limerick (UL) and Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) were involved. All national collaborators offered 12/14-week self-directed programmes providing a range of supports, including multi-media self-study packs, prescribed video text, supplementary online materials, native speaker language advisors, and self-reporting documentation. Learners were asked to set goals for themselves and to keep a log of their activities.
