Intercultural Competence in English and French

The teaching units “Intercultural Competence in English” as well as ”Intercultural Competence in French” are offered to college students in their final year of secondary education. The units are part of a career counselling service invented by Alwis e.V. Alwis developed a curriculum and provides interested secondary schools with teaching materials in the field of intercultural competence acquisition. The objective of this innovative teaching concept is the combination of language learning, intercultural training, and practical guidance to prepare students for internships abroad. The incorporation of intercultural communication skills into a playful language teaching concept encourages students to European studies abroad and to contribute to the improvement of their cultural, linguistic, and professional skills. The curriculum of “Intercultural Competence in English” as well as ”Intercultural Competence in French” comprises six modules (language exercises, intercultural skills, cultural studies, communication skills, tackling critical incidents, additional material).
